| Why did you become a teacher? |
| Many people become influenced in a postive way by mentors who take a postive and nuturing vested interested in the lives of their students. This is the reason why I decided to become an educator and boy's basketball high school coach. Leroy Davidian, who was my junior high teacher and muti-sport coach took me "under his wing" and taught me how a positive character and work ethic can bring success to your life. He taught me many "life issues" which I was able to take with me and apply them to my life and the lives of those individuals I come into contact with on a daily basis. Another person of high morale character I have been blessed to know is Ron Moore, my high school basketball coach. Coach Moore was there for me and taught me how "accountability" for my actions play a huge role in developing the needed foundation for structure for future success. He was a intense on the court and even more demanding off the court when it came to academics. He also was caring and new that learning is a life-long process. Coach Moore taught me how to trangress these qualities which I learned from him at a very early stage in my life to what I now know today. I have been very fortunate and blessed to have become an educator and high school boy's basketball coach. I am know able to share these same positive "life" values I learned from my coaches to my student athletes as Coach Davidian and Coach Moore advocated for me. I am forever greatful to them both for their guidance and leadership. |
